About
Just above Amsterdam you’ll find a beautiful area. The area is too big to see in one day, if you go by bike. A lot of tourists visit the main attractions just outside of Amsterdam, such as Volendam and the Zaanse Schans, by bus. When you take a bus tour it will usually depend on a schedule or on the majority of the group how much time you spend at the various attractions. So sometimes you may not have much time too see what you want, because other people decide when you leave.
Fortunately that problem is over now. If you join the Scooter Experience and go by scooter, you decide what time you will start, how long you will visit the attractions and when you will stop. You can make a reservation for the morning, the afternoon and for a full day. Depending on the time you want to spend for sightseeing and drinks and which areas you prefer to visit, we can advice you which route to choose.
The scooters are very easy to operate and age is not important. We have seats at the back of some scooters for little children. To rent a scooter you’ll need a (car) driving license. An international driving license is not necessary. Helmets are not required, so you can enjoy the lovely scenery with a minimum of hassle! The quiet scooters can reach a maximum speed of 25 km per hour and are very easy to use, even if you don’t have any experience with scooters/mopeds. All routes are clearly marked, as well on the maps as along the bike-track, so it won’t be difficult to find your way around.
You’ll see tourist attractions such as Edam (capital of dutch cheese), Volendam (lovely authentic dutch fishing village with dutch traditions), Marken and the Zaanse Schans (with traditional dutch houses and windmills in a natural imitated village, like an open air museum). Or go back in time and experience the atmosphere of authentic small old dutch villages such as Durgerdam, Ransdorp, Marken, Durgerdam and Broek in Waterland.
